I love the title of this new article published in Green Building & Design Magazine.<\/a><\/p>\n

Passive House Professionals\u00a0Julie\u00a0Torres Moskovitz and\u00a0Tim McDonald are doing some cutting edge work in NYC and Philadelphia and are very optimistic about the future of this Energy Standard.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore young people who are designing homes or who are having them designed are moving toward Passive House because they see it as a tool, not as a hindrance,\u201d Torres Moskovitz says. \u201cAs a designer, once you\u2019ve done one Passive House project, it\u2019s hard to go back. You can\u2019t help but apply its techniques to all your projects in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

McDonald phrases this idea a bit differently, but the sentiment is the same. \u201cPassive House is a standard that really allows buildings to be what I call \u2018Net-Zero-Energy-apable,\u2019\u201d he says. \u201cAnd if you look at a project holistically, as we do, they don\u2019t have to cost any more money. If you can design and build a building that can achieve net-zero energy at a zero premium, there should be zero debate.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
