Orient Beach House
Sited on a bluff over-looking Long Island Sound, this project adds to a classic and archetypal beach house. It gathers views through huge frameless windows and sliding doors, bringing the incredible site into the house. Built as a summer-home for an artist, a writer and their family, the house aims to create moments of overlap and space for gathering while simultaneously providing private space for quiet. With an emphasis on sustainability, the house implements environmentally friendly strategies such as shotgun circulation, radiant floor slabs for heat and reclaimed lumber cladding from various historical buildings in the greater New York area.
